The Sunset on Fraser Business Association organized and led the fifth year of the Mural Club at John Oliver High School. This program, which is funded and completely run by the BIA, invites students to join the after-school program and express and paint anything they wish on a 4’x4’ plywood canvas. There were forty murals on the school fence along Fraser Street and now another ten have been completed and hung. Sunset on Fraser BIA hired local artist and instructor Mara Cortez to lead the students for the fourth year in a row. Some of our students have been part of this program for all five years and we have had the pleasure of seeing them start high school in grade eight and now graduate in 2026. Next time you are on Fraser Street between 41st and 43rd take a look at the wonderful row of murals spanning two blocks!
